Video Blog: Is A Revocable Living Trust Available To The Public Like A Will?

Attorney Jeffrey P. Coleman explains the degree of public availability of a revocable living trust under Florida law.

Video Transcript:

A revocable living trust has an additional benefit that wills might not necessarily afford. That is the benefit of privacy.

That means that although the public may become aware of the existence of the trust (because Florida law does require the trustee to file a Notice of Trust, advising the world and potential creditors that the trust exists) they are not required necessarily to file the entire document; thereby maintaining the privacy of that document.
